FAQs

Got a question? Look no further.
Who uses eRep?
eRep is typically used by manufacturers that need a modern, affordable web solution for their internal and external sales teams to automate the sales process and get accurate quotes to scale the company to a new level.

Distributors of all kinds that need a modern, affordable web app for their sales teams and sub-distributors to generate quotes that their existing ERP systems are either too slow, don’t have needed features and workflows, or not mobile friendly.

How can I see a live demo?
Simply fill out the form on our Schedule a Demo page and our team will get you on the schedule.
How long does it take to get up and running?
New clients can anticipate their eRep instance to be live within a few days. At that point, product data can be added to build out the software to your organization’s needs. Depending on the complexity of your products, workflows, integrations, and if  custom features are needed, implementation may take three to six months for a full roll out. Our team are experts at leveraging what data you have today to get up and running quickly with eRep.
Can eRep integrate with my existing ERP or CRM?
eRep uses an open API framework and is capable of integrating with most other platforms. To date, we have integrated with many top platforms including Salesforce, Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Epicor and more. For questions about your specific CRM or ERP, contact us and we’ll be happy to answer your questions.
Can eRep integrate with other technology platforms?
Thanks to eRep’s open API framework, we can integrate with many other systems through integrations. This may include marketing automation platforms, CRMs, and ERPs.  This is pretty standard with most implementations.
Where can I get training for eRep?
Training and change management is critical to a successful software rollout.  We always provide role-based training and record the training for online access.   We are always adding new resources, guides, documentation and videos to our Resources page. We also offer webinar-based and live training to clients during onboarding and sale rep events.
What are the different User Types for eRep?
eRep has four classes of users, each with varying levels of access to the platform.

System Users:

System users are typically employees of the client company and have the most access to the eRep platform. These users may perform a variety of roles including system administrators, pricing administrators, sales managers, application engineers, business analysts, customer service, and order entry. Primarily, these users help to support the sales teams and sales channels.

Sales Portal Users:

Sales portal users are able to select products, configure options and pricing, and generate quotes and orders only. In many cases, these users are part of distributed sales teams or third-party rep firms, distributors, and VARs.

Parts Portal Users:

Parts portal users are able to shop for replacement and spare parts while accessing a variety of look-ups, such as serial number, purchase order number, or item number look-ups among others. Typically, these users are with rep-firms, contractors, distributors, or end-users.

Design Portal Users:

Some industries such as the building industry have influencers such as architects,  engineers, consultants, and even end-customers.  The design portal users are able to enter requirement and design information, select products and request pricing from their assigned sales rep, but do not have access to pricing information.

What features are included in each eRep edition?
See our features comparison chart here.  This is by no means all the features in eRep.  It is the most time-effective to request a demo to go through the feature set with a consultant and see how they will apply to your situation.
Tell me about the implementation process.
Standard eRep implementation services include:

  • Installation of eRep software in a staging and production environment
  • Addition of client logos, colors, and organizational setup
  • Set up of initial users, permissions, and email settings
  • Online onboarding training on how to use the system
  • User support phone consultations

Additional implementation services may include:

  • Full turnkey implementation
  • Custom development
  • Custom integrations
  • In-person consultations, training or support
  • Testing and data validation
  • Expert-On-Demand support
  • Other services as needed
How much does implementation cost?
Implementation costs are typically determined by the time required to configure the eRep platform to meet your needs.  Impelmentation fees also depend upon if we “do-it-for-you” or “do-it-with-you” or if you have resources that have time to enter or convert your existing pricing and other data.  Are your pricing rules documented, in a spreadsheet or database?  There are alot of factors that influence the implementation cost.

Contact us and we will advise you on the best way to implement and provide an implementation estimate.

Does eRep offer phased implementation?
Yes, many of our clients elect to implement eRep in phased roll-outs.  Some want it rolled out everything at once.   We have experience at both and can guide you on the most effective path to meet your business goals.
Do you have implementation partners?
Yes, we are continuing to build our partner network. Implementation services can be performed by a certified partner with support of BCA Technologies, Inc., to ensure success. Contact us for more information about this arrangement if you have any questions.
Can I add or delete users?
Yes, you control the users and their permissions.

Adding Users:

eRep is designed to be scalable as your organization grows. Your admins can select to add new System, Sales Portal, Design Portal or Parts Portal users at any time. These changes will be reflected in your next billing cycle.

Deleting Users:

To preserve a user’s data integrity, users cannot be deleted. Instead, users can be made inactive. Inactive users are not invoiced.  Users who have not logged into the system can be automatically made inactive so you are not paying for users who have not logged in.

What technology does eRep use?
eRep is on the Microsoft Azure platform, built on the modern .NET framework. and SQLServer databases, REST APIs for web services integrations, and has built-in tools for bulk data uploads.

The application can be deployed to any Microsoft Azure data center internationally.  eRep is GDPR compliant.

Do admins need to have programming skills?
No, eRep has a straightforward, user-friendly graphical interface that delivers an intuitive no-code experience.
Can I add modules to the Standard or Professional Plans?
Select modules, such as the Parts Sales Portal and Data Visualization Studio can be added for a nominal fee. Contact us for more information.
How can I encourage my distributors and dealers to use eRep?
In most cases, distributors using the eRep platform enjoy an improved user experience, faster support, and increased sales activity. However, if user adoption is an issue for your organization, the eRep marketing team may be able to offer insights, tips, and assistance for you.
How can I tell if eRep is right for me?
The short answer is that you should talk to us so our technical help can help determine if your needs are a match for eRep and your budget.  If eRep isn’t a fit, we will be honest and tell you.

Many clients have comfort in our extensive experience with over 450 successful projects and that eRep platform has been refined over two decades with over 30,000 users.

Schedule a discovery demo and our experts will work with you to determine if eRep is the right platform for you.
